PESACH: TRAVELLING WITH THE JEWISH PEOPLE

A fascinating journey through history, culture and taste to discover together the deep meaning of Passover (Pesach).

A GUIDED TOUR THROUGH THE MEANINGS, SYMBOLS AND FLAVOURS OF THE JEWISH PASSOVER!

Monday 21 APRIL and Sunday 27 APRIL, two rounds of special viewing: 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. Accompanied by an expert guide, you will discover the meaning, rituals and traditions associated with Pesach, the Jewish Passover. A joyful festival commemorating the Jews’ liberation from slavery in Egypt.

The itinerary will begin at the Museum with the recounting of the ritual of the Seder, in Hebrew ‘order’, an evocative dinner during which the stages of the Exodus are re-enacted and discussed in a pre-established order.

During the experience it will be possible to taste some of the foods symbolic of this occasion:

MATZAH, the unleavened bread, recalling the hasty escape of the Jews from Egypt, who had no time to let the bread rise.

CHAROSETH, a sweet dough made with dried fruit, dates, apples, red wine or orange juice. Its texture and colour are reminiscent of the mortar used by the Jews during slavery in the land of Egypt. The recipe changes from family to family, according to tradition.

This is followed by a guided tour of the MUSEO DELLA PADOVA EBRAICA and the SINAGOGA ITALIANA.
