October 4th, 1938: The Board of Education of Padua prohibits the use of textbooks written by Jewish authors
One of the actions imposed by the Racial Laws forbade schools and teachers to make students use books written by authors defined as “of Jewish race”. In the 4th October memorandum, in compliance with the law enforced some days before on 30th September 1938, the head of the Board of Education of Padua asks the head teachers of the middle schools to list possible Jewish authors the Ministry of Education might not have been informed of, thus far.
