Accompanied by an expert guide, you will learn about the traditions, symbols and some of the foods that characterise the feast of SHAVUOTH. A joyous feast recalling when, while the people of Israel waited at the foot of Mount Sinai, Moses ascended the mountain where he received as a gift from God the Torah, the sacred text for Judaism.
We will offer two special tours (11 a.m. or 4 p.m.) to discover the traditions of this special occasion.
The tour will begin at the Museum where we will retrace together how Moses was given the Torah and tell how this occasion is celebrated today.
The visit will then continue to the Italian Synagogue, the Community’s current place of prayer, which is traditionally adorned with plants and flowers for the occasion.
At the end of the tour, a short interactive quiz will be offered to challenge us by playing on the notions acquired.
Meeting point: MUSEO DELLA PADOVA EBRAICA, Via delle Piazze, 26 – 35122 PADOVA.
